Interpersonal Process Group Therapy

Irvin Yalom once stated that two main contributors to emotional disturbance are difficulties in initiating or maintaining healthy relationships. With these interpersonal challenges in mind, IHMCC currently offers an Adult Interpersonal Process group on Thursday evenings.

The purpose of this interpersonal process group is to assist participants in a safe therapeutic environment to focus on and disclose their current experiences and become more aware of and receptive to the here-and-now disclosed experiences of others. Clients are asked to develop individual goals for change and personal growth with the hope that clients will increase their capacity to give and receive love from others. This type of group therapy is indicated for a wide range of mood and anxiety disorders.
